I’ve been having at look at mining applications around the Arunta Orogen and it looks to me like WA1 Resources have lodged another application in the Northern Territory (NT). This map is from WA1 Resources‘ Quarterly Activities Report for the Period Ending 31 March 2024, that was released to the ASX on 8 April 2024.
Location of the West Arunta Project
The release also had this schedule of tenement interests.
Schedule of WA1 Resources’ Tenement Interests 31 March 2024
The following tenement application of the NT Government website shows application EL33796 in the name of WA1 Resources with an effective date of 3 April 2024. The tenement is 769 km2. You should be able to work out its relative location to other WA1 Resources applications. I’ve circled in red two of the applications in the map and tenement list above.
Application EL33796
If you think WA1 Resources have already discussed this application please let me know in the comment section below.
The image below shows the new application, EL33796, with Geophysical Imagery switched on. In this case the Magnetic TMI (Total Magnetic Intensity) background.
The following image has a Gravity background switched on.
You can switch on ‘Drilling’ to show ‘Drillholes’. I’ve excluded Petroleum Wells and zoomed out and you get a sense for how underexplored the West Arunta Orogen actually is. It doesn’t look like there’s been a single drill hole anywhere across the 769 km2 of the new application EL33796.
EL33795 – New WA1 Resources Application – 3 April 2024
There’s a second new exploration application, EL33795, in WA1 Resources’ name effective 3 April 2024. This tenement is not in WA1 Resources’ schedule as at 31 March 2024, and believe is new also. The ground is 158km2 and is shown in turquoise on the left of the image below with a blue outline. I’ve put a rectangle in blue around the other new tenement discussed above and red rectangles around the other NT tenements that we knew about already.
